About

My areas of specialization are gender, policy, and pedagogy in sociology. My experiences as a human rights officer led to an interest in studying the challenges faced by practitioners in the development and implementation of human rights policies at post-secondary institutions. My research focus has expanded in recent years to include studying the impact of sociology courses on students' attitudes towards marginalized social groups. I am particularly interested in strategies to encourage transformative learning through the development of a sociological imagination.
