Course description
This course introduces students to the professional context of early childhood education including language and terminology, legal guidelines, educator responsibilities and the varied role of educators in educational environments for young children.
Course content
- Students will investigate various early learning curricular approaches to deliberate their future role in working with young children.
- Students will begin the process of recognizing and applying professional terminology and language specific to early childhood education.
- In the role of Early Childhood Educator, collaboration with colleagues is imperative, this course verifies the integral role of teams in ECE environments.
- Students will gain an understanding of the meaning and value of diversity in ECE environments.
- Early childhood education has a rich tradition of parent involvement. Students will be introduced to working with parents within a collaborative framework.
